Verizon will launch two Android powered phones in the next couple of
months. The wireless company and Motorola will release Motorola Droid
X on July 15 with Android 2.1 as default OS. Verizon has also
confirmed that it will make Droid 2 available on August 23 however
Droid 2 will be released with Android 2.2. Droid X will cost $199 with
$100 rebate. The price will be only valid with 2 year Verizon Wireless
data and voice service contract. Verizon has confirmed that it will
push Android 2.2 to Motorola Droid X after its release.
There is no confirmation if HTC Droid Incredible will also get Android
2.2. However considering the high-end hardware of the device, the
Froyo update for Incredible makes sense.
