Dear all,
This week's talk will be on Tuesday, November 19th, from 11:10 am to 12:00 pm in 3110 Etcheverry Hall and https://berkeley.zoom.us/j/95785043475.
The speaker is Blythe , who is advised by Prof. Grace O’Connell from the mechanical engineering department, and she will be speaking about “Applying Machine Learning Techniques to Analyze Multi-model Pathogen Surface Data”
Here is the abstract:
Analysis of microscopy datasets acquired on biological samples and their interactions with surfaces can provide valuable insight for investigating pathogens. Developing machine learning-based segmentation models to quickly and efficiently isolate and quantify relevant biological features has become essential in biohazard prevention efforts. This talk will discuss her research with Oak Ridge National Lab to pair machine learning with AFM imaging to combat future biohazards.
Coffee and donuts will be provided in-person!
Best,
Ian
