Cost of Hardware Timestamp addition

Hi

In all documentation, all i find is that hardware timestamping happens at line rate with minimal latency.
Any pointers to how much latency is added as a result of hardware timestamping of the network packets.

Its my belief that different vendors implement timestamping differently but that, at least for 
Arista's low latency switches (7150 series) there is no latency impact, that timestamps 
are captured on ingress and written on egress. Note that the hires timestamps roll about 
every 6 seconds and you need a keyframe to convert the  timestamp to UTC
