Invitation for Radiance 2015

Radiance, the annual technological and research festival of the mechanical engineering department is going to be held this weekend. This year the events are diverse and offer a wide opportunity to enjoy, learn and compete!

The event details are as follows:

Workshops:

1. Advanced SolidWorks: You know how to use it, but do you know how you can maximize the utility? A session dedicated to touch on the advance features in the designing software.

Time : 5:00 PM, Saturday, Venue: LC 201

2. Ornithopter: A hands on session to build your own flying machine conducted by professionals. 

Sunday, 9AM to 5PM, Venue: LC 301

3. Image processing session: A session dedicated to touching up on the art of image processing and discussing its wide real time applications in research. 

Sunday, 6:00 PM, Venue: LC 201

4. Full throttle: A workshop entailing the technical nitty grittys in automobile engineering followed by making an actual RC car

Competitions:

1. Matlab Coding: Specifically designed problem statements that will test your proficiency in MATLAB.

2. Industry Defined Problem (Finals)

3. Vaigyaiki (Finals): National level research paper presentation competition

Exhibitions for Radiance 2015 shall feature:

1. Evo3, IIT Bombay Race car

2. The IIT Bombay Mars Rover

3. Projects from the Innovation cell and ASME

4. Technovation, and many more exhibits

Lecture Series:

1. Technical Talk : Space Cryogenics, Liquid Propulsions, by Dr Nawal Kishore Gupta, Ex-Deputy Director, ISRO

Sunday, Time: 2:30 to 4:00 PM,Venue: LC 202

2. General Talk:  Role and scope of Mechanical engineering in Defence, by Dr J D Patil, ex-vice-President LnT and IIT Bombay alumnus

Sunday, Time: 4:30 PM to 6: 00PM, Venue: LC 202

Informals:

For the fun and entertainment of all, there would be several fun events like:

1. Gully fantasy League: Experience real auctions and try to outsmart other competitors in a bid to buy the best cricket team

2. Rubik's Cube, SuDoku, Mathematical Puzzles and games

3. Trivia Quiz: For all the quizzing enthu junta, a fun quiz with a flavour of mechanical engineering, and many more such events

Radiance 2015 is sure to be a fun-filled event with all the informal activities that will be going along all throughout the two days. Be there, to witness the largest technological extravaganza of our department. The other departments too would be having their events simultaneously, so its sure to be an eventful weekend.
