Hello Educators,

Please forward this to all your AB540 Students who are already at a current public Community College, CSU or UC and to your current High school senior who meet the AB540 Requirements and will be attending a public CC, CSU or UC in the Fall 2012. Now that the Dream Act is a reality lets take advantage of the Financial Resources available to all AB540 students in California. I attached the Dream Act Application which is for the use of CAL Grants and other state Financial Programs this is the (AB131) section of the CA Dream ACT. The application is easier to complete online which I strongly recommend you do. 

In order to Qualify for the CA DREAM ACT the student high school or college must meet the  AB540 (3 Require Criteria):

• attended a high school in CA for 3 Years (order of years does not matter)
  

Example ( I attended 2 years at Jefferson HS & 2 years at Santee ED. Complex)

• graduated from a High School in California or attained an equivalent of a GED
• and 
• Submit and sign the AB540 Affidavit (California Non-Resident Tuition Exemption Request Form) 

If the Student does not meet the above criteria for Assembly Bill 540 unfortunately the student will not qualify for the CA Dream Act both AB130 and AB131 and would pay out of state Tuition.
