Hello all,
I've booked the library for the first 4 workshops of the year. I was unable to secure Sunday afternoon in all cases, so we will still need to finalize on the dates.

We are currently booked for 6:30-8:30pm (advertise meeting for 7-8pm) on the following Tuesdays: January 31 and February 28.
We are currently booked for 2:30-4:30pm (advertise meeting for 3-4pm) on the following Sundays: March 25 and April 29

Travis,
Are you available to talk on Tuesday, January 31st? Also, please send the topic list you had prepared. I am assuming you will be our speaker for the first session on your proposed topic of Ice Dams, if that's ok with you. I'll work with you as well as with other available subject matter experts on the remaining sessions.

Ellen, Doug and others,
Please send me and ideas you have of other potential speakers and their topics so that I can start to form a plan and a potential schedule for the workshops.

I would like to start to list this in the paper two weeks prior to the first session with a tip on the topic, followed by the announcement of the workshop the following week. So, we will need to finalize on Travis' topic and a few words around it to start promotions (assuming he's available on this new date...)

Thanks,
Lori

For the 31st, we would need notes/write-up for the papers. Travis, do you have notes on what you’re planning?

We need a name for the series. “Energy Challenge Chats,” “Hot Stove, Cool Planet” series….I’m sure someone could come up with something better, but would be good to include “energy challenge” in the title to keep up name recognition…

Some topic ideas

·         heating systems – how they work, types of high efficiency units, what to look for when buying one.

·         Do it yourself insulating

·         How to make historic homes more energy efficient

·         Restoring old windows

Travis sent me a description of the first session. I'll add time and date info and will send it out to all. I also think we need some tips to go with the topic. I'll see what I can find online.
