Role: Controls Engineer

Location : 5 Days Onsite in Pensacola, FL

We are seeking a skilled Controls Automation Engineer with experience in Rockwell PLC and HMI programming to support a specialized project involving two self-contained machines. This role will involve executing software programming, integrating control points for data logging, and collaborating closely with the R&D team based on pre-defined specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Rockwell PLC and HMI software in accordance with R&D work instructions
• Program and configure up to 50 control/monitoring points for integration into an existing Historian Application
• Work with pre-designed hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, and control panels (already procured and on-site)
• Leverage existing safety architecture and sensor/switch selections in final implementation
• Support testing and validation activities alongside R&D engineers
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer of all programming efforts

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Rockwell Automation platforms (PLC and HMI programming)
• Familiarity with data logging systems and Historian applications
• Ability to follow structured R&D instructions while applying practical automation knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a regulated or R&D-heavy manufacturing environment
• Previous hands-on work with machine-level controls for discrete systems
