Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, and the Chinese Comparative Literature Association (CCLA) are jointly organizing the 2016 7th Sino-American Comparative Literature Symposium: " Comparative Literature and World Literature". This conference is designed to provide a platform for researchers to exchange ideas on issues related to comparative literature, and encourage further academic cooperation between scholars from China and the US. Scholars from other regions are also invited to discuss related topics (in the Chinese and American context in particular).
Past symposia are as follows:
• 1983, Beijing, "Chinese and English Comparative Poetics"
• 1987, Princeton, Indiana University, Stanford, "Chinese and English Comparative Poetics"
• 2001, Tsinghua, in cooperation with Yale, "Comparative Literature and Globalization"
• 2006, Duke, "Visual Culture"
• 2010, Shanghai, "Comparative Literature and the Reconstruction of World Literature"
• 2013, Purdue, "Comparative Literature, Religion, and Society"
The 2016 Symposium seeks proposals under the theme " Comparative Literature and World Literature". We invite papers on the following topics and beyond:
• New development of Comparative Literature;
• Comparative literature and world literature;
• Comparative literature and literary translation;
• Comparative literature and other disciplines.
Other proposals on inspiring topics related to the theme are also welcomed.
We plan to publish selected papers.

Registration Fee:
General: 600 RMB, Student (With ID): 300 RMB
The fee is inclusive of the Symposium name badge, delegate kit, coffee breaks, photos, Welcome Reception, and meals during the conference. Traveling tickets and accommodation are not included.
NOTE:
Please submit your registration information card before January 15, 2016.
Please submit your abstract before March 15, 2016.
The writers of the accepted abstracts can submit the whole paper before April 15, 2016. The Style guide will be put on-line later.
