Have been doing some work on the interface - long way to go, but it is
usable.

If you want to have a play with it, at the moment you need to get:
Mysql
Ruby and Rails (on windows, I find instantrails the easiest
way...includes mysql)
The source code (including meagserver.jar from the _libs folder - and
you want to keep the file hierarchy in place)
An xmpp server (we are using openfire)
After configuring (server names, usernames for the database etc) you
need to run a couple of background tasks before starting the rails app
- these are in \lib\workers
