Worth taking a look at these:

and seeing if we want to go down this route for private feeds.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with adopting this technique,
but I know Rob has concerns because some readers don't support
authentication. I suspect that will change in the near future, as
enterprise blogging and rss takes off - authentication is a must for
this sort of environment, just as it is for MeAggregator...
