"The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see"

You may think when did I teach these people?
Life itself is a teacher.
In life, we all learn from each other.
By knowing you, and by interacting with you, we had an opportunity to learn from you.
As usual, we are sure, you were waiting for our Guru Poornima message.
Somehow, we became busy at that time, and we couldn't do it.
Today, on 5th September, when the nation is celebrating Teachers Day, we wish you

Life is Precious
Sharing with you the story of Shreya who braved the challenges thrown open at her by the life. After going through her story, I am sure, the challenges that are in front of us will look ordinary.
In 2016 my niece, Sharanya from Dubai joined MIT Manipal for her BTech. She had her midterm break in September. Before she went home for the break, she had come home with her friend Shreya, who was from Pune. Jokingly I had told Sharanya to take Shreya to Dubai. In return, she told that she would take her during the next holiday. After having snacks/dinner at home they went back. They had to be back on campus in the last week of September.
On 28th September, when we woke up in the morning, we had news saying a bus from Mumbai to Mangalore had met with an accident in Honnavar, and about 17 travelers were seriously injured. As it was early hours, the rescue act took some time. There were no nearby hospitals to take care of patients who needed critical care, so they had to be moved to KMC, Manipal with a travel time of about 2 hours. When the patients are fighting for life, for critically injured patients, these 2 to 4 hours are arduous and too long.
Apart from many students from Manipal, Shreya was one among many ill-fated travelers on that bus. Shreya was thrown out of the bus onto the soil with parts of the hand exposed to the soil. She had serious injuries to both her hands and her hands were soiled. In this condition, she was brought to KMC, Manipal. Doctors were battling to save her hand. But it was too late, they feared infection spreading to the whole body and creating more harm to Shreya. Finally, they had to decide to forgo both her hands. Shreya was in the hospital bed for months with Band-Aids everywhere, without knowing that she had lost both her hands. Yes, for no fault of her, from an independent girl, now she had to depend on someone for all her day-to-day activities.
Today, with most of us having a single child, we cannot afford such a tragedy for any family. In this case, we are happy that, on a later date she received a donor and now she has recovered well and has become independent with these hands received from a donor.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together
This deed they did of donating their son's organs is really noble; and he is still alive in seven other people, including me; and this hand transplantation has given me a second shot at life; and my donors family are no less than a God's blessing for me as well as my parents.
