ME 103 - Final Design Project

Dear Students,

Per our discussion in class this past Wednesday, we are meeting in
front of the North-East corner of the CSULA pool this coming Monday
(May 17th) at 6:10pm. You will learn about the final design projects
and meet with your Kinesiology counterparts who are enrolled in Dr.
Landsberger’s KIN439 (Rehabilitation Exercise Machines) course and who
will act as your team’s consultant on the following projects. You
will be choosing from the projects listed below before you are
dismissed Monday evening.
1. Shoulder Exerciser (Mobility Gym)
2. Sand Scooper (Shane’s Inspiration)
3. Sand Conveyor (Shane’s Inspiration)
4. Ryan’s Climbing Wall (Kinesiology)
5. Mini-Pool (Kinesiology)
6. Treadmill Bike (Mobility Gym)
7. Pedal-Powered Wheelchair


Notes:
- In regards the final design project requirements, please refer to
the ME103 syllabus. If you may have additional
questions, we may discuss it after class on Monday.

- Please make appropriate plans so not to fall behind schedule.

- It is recommended for the students who have not yet visited the
Shane’s Inspiration accessible playground at
Griffith Park to visit the playground over the weekend.

- You have access to the B-15 lab and additional time will be
scheduled for the PE-10 lab use.

- IMPORTANT! Anytime you are in the machine shop, you must abide
by the safety rules!

- Schedule for the remaining of the quarter:
1. Monday May 17th – Pool visit and teams choosing on their final
design project
2. Wednesday May 19th – Final lecture session on SolidWorks
3. Beginning Monday May 24th – Unless otherwise specified
a. Engineering teams may use class time (MW 6:10pm – 8:00pm)
to work on their final design project
(Prototype Building, SolidWorks, PowerPoint
Presentation, and/or Final Report).
b. Our classroom will be open and available for your teams
to access on Mondays and Wednesdays from
6:10pm until 8:00pm.
