Greets all:

My job is relocating me to Maine (can't wait!!!) but in 2 house hunting
trips there I've seen no brick houses for sale. I'm looking for somethng
durable and forever....no painting. I saw some really nice stone houses but
they were not for sale.

Any pointers?

Thanks,
Shaun

Shaun,

I see that your message is old, but in case you've not found what you are
looking for or for the benefit of anyone else looking for a house as you
describe:

I saw this listing:

http://www.homefinder.com/ME/Scarborough/53352733d_107_Running_Hill_Rd

There used to be a link on the page to another site showing more of the
place. The realtor's photo sux and this is a better one.

We were going to move to Maine for my job and couldn't find anything like
we are used to. Very few brick houses. There are a few stone houses down
near Blackpoint road, but those are not for sale. All of the houses use oil
heat with radiators. I hate those....when you get too hot or cold and
change the thermostat, it takes forever for the room temp to change. We are
used to forced air gas. Very few houses have central airconditioning, and
it does get hot sometimes in Maine.

Anyway, we went by to see it and the place is beautiful. Not at all as if
it was built as a Maine house (cedar shakes, old-looking inside....you
know). It is all brick and has a huge basement. Man, I'd love to have this
place. High efficiency everything, 3 car garage to put my old Ferarri (yes,
it is old but I work on it myself). The link to the features list is hard
to find but on the bottom of the first comcast page.

Hope this helps,
Martin
