I bet you didn't think the answer would be Drilling Down, our huge conference on fracking in Baltimore this weekend. But it is!

CCAN is teaming up with Physicians for Social Responsibility, NAACP, and Interfaith Power & Light to bring you Drilling Down: Maryland's first statewide conference on fracking risks at University of Baltimore this Saturday, Dec. 8th.

In addition to representatives from every major environmental organization in the state, we'll have legislators, scientists, journalists, lawyers, bloggers, and health professionals to rub elbows with. Not to mention that individuals who have signed up represent another 50+ local, state-wide, and national progressive orgs, like Environmental Working Group, Clean Water Action, and Recycled Cities.

We are bringing hundreds of people from around the state together to learn more about the risks that fracking poses to Maryland and how we can collectively take action to put real protections in place for our water, air, and climate. Fracking is going to be a huge issue in Maryland this year. We’ve seen a movement growing quickly in the last few months and we just heard that the gas industry is beefing up their team of lobbyists in Annapolis in order to ensure that fracking happens here. That’s why it’s so important that people like you come to learn more about this issue.

In short, this conference is kind of a big deal. And you should be there. Student registration is only $10 and includes a delicious lunch!

I'll see you on the 8th!

Best,
Megan
