Hey scooterists! Anyone out there ever heard of or participated in the Baltimore City Swamp-Ass Weekender Scooter Rally?  The info online is a little (okay, a lot) sketchy but it’s convenient and might be fun.  Looking for feedback on this one before I register ....

This sounds like a fun time and its quite close for me. I will plan
to go Sat morning to join the 11am ride. The saturday daytime ride
and bbq sounds like it would be a great time to meet other local
scooterists and enjoy some good company.

Agreed - this does look like fun! I've participated in the Charm City
Scooter rally (http://www.charmcityscooterrally.com/) for the past two years
- last year was in the city, and this year was a camping weekend out in
Allegany county. They were a both a BLAST! Had Lots of fun and met lots of
really nice people.

I'm not familiar with this rally, and I did not see any postings from prior
years on ScootNet (www.scoot.net) - though this year's event was on their
calendar.

I like the idea of just planning on spending Sat there - do the AM/Afternoon
ride, then BBQ/Swim afterwards (maybe even mimosas on Sunday AM?). I think
that would be fun. I'm gonna sign up! Hope to see others of you there
also!

P.S. - Don't forget about the Monday (Aug 10) evening ride. Check the
bulletin board for details.

That must been a bear to type from your iPhone!

Also, its important to know what size scooters will be going before you plan your route. For example, you may plan to hit roads with 50mph speed limits and have a good route planned, but someone may show up with a 50cc scooter that's only capable of going 35mph.

I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it as I will be on vacation, maybe we can set up a ride for mid-August too...

This sounds like fun to me, count me in! My only caveat is this, I
work in Labor and Delivery and we have been somewhat short staffed
lately so I am scheduled to work dayshift on the 10th. That being
said, if enough nurses dont show up for evening, I may get stuck
there.

I was thinking the same thing.  It's cool to see more people riding and joining the group, but with more people riding the larger, licenced scoots, it kinda leaves those of us on lowly 50's in the lurch.

Well scooters should be scooters really anything bigger than a 200 shouldn't really be called a scooter in my eyes I mean doesn't not to down the bigger scooters but come on people are smaller scooters can't stay with the flow of traffic. Bigger more powerful scooters should be in a different section I feel bad for us and them any opinions about this? Sorry for my spelling typing on my black berry

Kev – Don’t hesitate to join us!  I;m a recent graduate to a bigger scoot and love the 50 ccs.  I’ll map out a route that is 50cc-friendly.  The more the merrier!  Please let me know if you will be coming as it affects the route we’ll be taking.

Hey Janee:

Thanks for organizing the ride.  I'm working in Glen Burnie on Monday.  If the route brings you in this direction, I'd be happy to join the ride in progress.  Please send me a link to the map route.  If I can't make it this time, I'm looking forward to the next ride.

Brian,

I see what you're saying and agree, but it seems like Janabye is going
to be pretty accommodating as far as the 50cc's go.

At Janabye,

We appreciate it.

hi guys - in the interest of safety, I think we need to postpone the XC Howard County ride tomorrow. The weather forecast is calling for temps over 100 degrees, which is way too hot for me to suit up in proper safety gear. I'm sad about it, but safety has to come first.

I'm taking recommendations for another date in the next few weeks. Shout out if a day other than Mondays is better for you.

Thanks,
Janeé

hello everyone  i've been off the road for a few months now i've had to rebuild my scooter engine, and replace the carb, after I got it rebuilt  the original carb was a 19mm and I had to keep the throttle wide open jsut to get it to start and no adjusting would help so I went and purchashed a 24mm mikuni carb but I got no data sheetws or anything with it, I got it new for 45.00 which I thought was a great price, I see why it was a great price the dealer knew nothing about it what i'm asking is  in the pic you can see a line at the top right side of the carb is that line some sort of vacume line that I need to hook up to the intake manifild or do I plug it off, I got the fuel line hooked up the choke hooked it  but that one line is baffling me, as so far I haven't been able to start teh bike yet. any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
