Something I read one fine morning several years ago. I still read it as often as I can and by now I know it by heart. And it still gives a fresher perspective each time. Go through it at ease and let it ease into your being...
Good morning! Today is going to be a beautiful day for you. Because today is the first day of the rest of your life. Everything is going to be alright. It is. Forget the mess, the madness. Forget the horrible past, just forget it. Commit yourself to a new life today because today is a new day. A gift.
Now consider this, you could have died last night. You wouldn't be here in this beautiful world today, near you, near your family, reading your copy of the morning paper. You could have died last night and with you would have died all your hopes and all your pending dreams and all the good things you still have in your life. You would have been up, or wherever it is that God stations our souls and the body you still possess would be gone. The eyes gone, the heart gone, the memories gone. Those you love would be crying right now, the home would be a place for people to come and offer condolences. Your favorite pillow would be there and your favorite cheese in the fridge and yes, your favorite clothes, but not you. Not you if you had died last night. But you haven't died last night. Somebody else did. Its over for somebody else, time's up. You still have the time and the health and the life to do what you want to do. Today is
a gift to you and so is tomorrow and so are the days after and the rest of your life.
Yes, it is a good morning. Everything you wanted to do (that is everything that doesn't hurt your conscience, your Prophet and your God
life's garden. What we think of as impossible awe inspiring miracles are only the flick of a wrist… and down come the blinding-light blessings.
We want more than what we need and often we want more than what has been
written out in our life's ledgers and therein begins the trouble. Today decide that you will not want. I truly believe that it is shameful to ask for anything. At least I am ashamed. Whatever
has been given to me is anyways
more that I deserve. Today pledge that you will live life in gratitude and with grace, all else is an invitation to unrest. Live life with
what you have, all else is unnecessary luggage. Today you can change the course of your life. It's never too late. Today you can start afresh. Today is yours. Yet another gift to you, remember you could have died last night? Today no matter what, tell yourself that will clean your act and life up. And don't tell me that it doesn't need a clean up. Every life has cobwebs. Clean them out today. Today tell yourself that you will make it because
you want to make it, because you yet another chance. Yet again. If
you didn't deserve another chance it could have ended for you last night. But you
have today. Grab it.
It is more than a good morning. It's a great morning, if you just open your eyes and see the life. Even if you cant pray, or don't know how to or haven't before, today talk to someone. Find a place, find some time and sit down. Or stand or walk but today, talk. Weep, howl yourself buddy what good is your life and what kind of a person are you?
Today befriend yourself, today you have a new best friend,
You. Today you are alive. It is a very good morning. Go out and embrace it. From me to each one of those reading this- great luck. I'm telling you, it will be fine. In all our little lives, we have seen hell. Pain is hell, but there too there's
life. I don't know how and I certainly don't know why I'm saying this but I'm saying this from the heart and I believe that it will be ok. I wish you the very best. Good luck, good life. Let your star shine.
