Bonnie Ott and I joined the Maryland Biodiversity Program’s BioBlitz group at Louise F. Cosca Regional Park in Clinton, Maryland last Sunday (June 21, 2026). Our focus was on the Dragonflies and Damselflies species that occurred in the Park, but we did keep
records of the butterflies seen as well. The main wetland (the large Pond/Lake) was drained (see:
Cosca Regional Park Dam | Cosca Regional Park Dam. The lake … | Flickr ), plus most of the smaller streams had also become dry due to the draught. As a result, our low Odonate count, I am sure, really does not do the Park justice.
