I took advantage of the warm spell last week and visited the Patuxent Research Refuge on September 30th, October 1st and October 2nd.
I focused on the north end of Cash Lake on the 30th, Lake Redington on the 1st and various sites on the Central Tract on the 2nd.
The dragonfly numbers were low for species and individual numbers. Butterflies were better represented. The numbers below represent the total for all three days. It looks promising for a good showing of Little Yellows this year.
