Hi all,

We'll be hosting two dragonfly counts again this year, the third annual Rappahannock County count on Saturday June 6th, and the sixth annual Clifton Institute count on Sunday June 21st.

These counts are similar to NABA counts except the count circles are a little bigger and the data are available to all here. We've found 49-58 species on each count and highlights have included Appalachian Jewelwing, Aurora Damsel, Vesper Bluet, Lilypad Forktail, Sphagnum Sprite, Sweetflag Spreadwing, Laura's, Rapids, and Sable Clubtails, Yellow-sided Skimmer, Little Blue Dragonlet, Double-ringed Pennant, and Dot-tailed Whiteface.

People of all skill levels are welcome but we are always in need of intermediate or advanced observers. There are so many interesting habitats to cover, most of which are on private properties that are not normally open to the public.

You can register for these free events here:

Thank you!
Bert
