Green Ridge SF spring count is exactly one month from today!

Easter Saturday, with rain date of Easter MONDAY in the event of rain.

For veteran counters, pretty much all the logistics are the same.  We'll meet at the Oak Barrel at 10 am, deploy into the field at 10:30 on your selected routes. 

Since we no longer participate in the NABA count process, there is no fee. 

We're a week early than we usually hold this count, because in the past few years we've observed Marbles (are principal census species) emerging earlier and earlier, sometimes as early at St. Patrick's Day.  This may mean we will miss later-flying leps we sometimes pick up on this count, particularly Silvery Blue and Cobweb Skipper. 

On the other hand we should see the newly described Northern Azure subspecies Valeriia's Azure, which we think is the Northern we've been counting in previous years.
