Hi Audrey -
It's been a while since I last looked at MDiG, so it'd take me a while
to work out why the Window's installer is not working.
I would suggest using Linux, as it'll be faster for me to debug/fix any issues.
Can you tell the specific process you've followed to install MDiG and Grass?
Is it the same as:

?
Once you've run this, you can go to the mdig directory and run
python mdig.py --help
(check that you are in the subdirectory containing mdig.py)
