Hi all
I've found the time to go on reordering the wiki pages, and to test my MDiG setup.

I  confirm that the "fast install" on Ubuntu [1] still works, using the now 'old' grass 6.4.3. There are issues compiling MDiG on GRASS 7, but for now I'll stay with 6.4.3.

Now with the question: I'm striving to better document the process of creating the DispersalML model definition file, in particular for population dynamics-based models (mammals, in detail).
Anyone has some hints/examples to place on the wiki??

Thanks in advance!

Hi Damiano;

I'm coming into this a bit cold, as I haven't looked at the software in a number of years, but thought I'd add my two cents to see if it could be helpful - peeking around a little in the github wiki, it doesn't look like all of the module documentation made it over, but I was able to find some content still hosted on Joel's fruition site that details some info about the different modules  and how they are applied (http://www.fruitionnz.com/mdig/index.php?title=List_of_MDiG_modules).

I'm not sure what your objectives are exactly, but I'll shamelessly plug my own dissertation where I applied some matrix-based population models with dispersal (https://researcharchive.lincoln.ac.nz/bitstream/10182/5742/3/wangen_phd.pdf). I tried to include at least some documentation of how the population models were specified, which may or may not be useful to you. Joel had also assisted me in implementing some custom dispersal kernels, but I don't know if that was ever properly documented anywhere.

I hope that can be of some use to you!

Steve,
thank you for the _fast_ answer.

As you, I come back now and then in my spare time as a research
associate to "MDiG resuscitation", as I call it.

Years ago, Joel Pitt kingly granted me an access to the github repo,
and I'm trying to achieve two objectives: i) rendering the existing
documentation useful to anyone interested and ii) using MDiG to model
invasive alien species here in Italy (namaly, american grey squirrels).

I'll read through your disseratation... matrix-based models look like
what I need ;)

Of course, I'll give you proper credits in the MDiG wiki, should I
find (and expect to!) something interesting in your work!!!

Thank you a lot indeed again!

Hey!

Thanks Damiano for curating the wiki, and thanks Steve for pointing
out some pages that haven't yet been transferred.

I should shut down the old wiki at some point, to avoid people getting
confused about where to look for the most current info, but I'll be
sure to check everything is on github first.

Hi Joel, glad to read you....
I'm having some time to dedicate at MDiG, and can do a 'mass when' of the fruition old pages. If you agree, of course, then I'll go on reorder github.
I've just finished running my ugly ad hoc grey squirrel spread simulation in central Italy and would also try MDiG, in particular to simulate control scenarios...

Hi Damiano - that'd be awesome if you could transfer the missing
fruition wiki pages. Please let me know when you're done and I'll make
the old site redirect to github.

This link has all the pages available on the old site:

http://fruitionnz.com/mdig/index.php?title=Special:AllPages

Any questions, let me know :-)

OK!
I'm trying to mirror 'everything' hammering the site with wget ;)

Once I'm finished (and checked the local copy) I'll drop you a line!

Hi there,

I've finished "mirroring" (offline, of course) the "old pages" on the
fruitionnz web.

As you please, you can place a redirect from there to github.

I'll go on reorganizing the pages on github (that is, just the
documentation) using what I've mirrored.

All the best

Just a heads up that I've now set http://fruitionnz.com/mdig to
redirect to the github repository :-)

(actually did it a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to mention anything
at the time!)

Much thanks to Damiano for transitioning the wiki articles.
