Subject: Update on 9907 Fragrant Lilies
Good Morning,
I just got off the phone with Officer Andre Lingham who, as promised yesterday, made contact with the realtor representing the new owner of 9907 Fragrant Lilies and provided me with the following update:
On November 17th Bayview put the attached notice on the property door; the notice gave the squatters until December 10th to vacate the premises. The squatters did finally contact Re/Max 2000 and spoke with the agent and have settled on December 19th as the move out date. If everything proceeds according to plan, the Agent will meet them at the house and personally make sure everything is out of the house and accept the keys at that time. Only if all conditions are met will the squatters receive the $4,500 incentive to move out. Bayview is still following through with eviction proceedings just in case, but it is our belief that the financial incentive will be enough. There is no further danger of squatters in this unit because anyone now to enters the property will be subject to arrest for breaking and entering (since the property has a legal owner). Due to what can only be imagined as extensive damage, Bayview will have to rehab the house prior to selling, which is their end goal.
Officer Lingham has a viable contact now for the realtor and will update us all as needed. For safety reasons, please make sure no one enters the property until it is verified that no one is occupying the house.
The saga is finally winding down – a nice Christmas present to Emerson! Ruthann and Michael – please forward this information to any email list for Fragrant Lilies (only) as I do not have emails for all the homeowners who have inquired on the status.
