While passing through Crowborough on Saturday 3rd, I also captured Compass Buses E200 YX18KUE on ESCC Route 228, which has now been mostly reduced to a Crowborough Town Service.

How the mighty have fallen! Didn't it go to Tunbridge Wells once, along with route 229? The main service had to be single deck due to a low bridge in the Jarvis Brook area, but there was a DD working at school finishing times which covered most of the route that was physically suitable for a decker.

Yes it did, and infact still does as there is still a school journey through to Tunbridge Wells, and at one time the 228/229 was a half hourly service when Arriva at Tunbridge Wells held it.
For the record the low Railway bridge is at Crowborough Rail Station and on my first ever visit in May 2022, I captured their E200 YX67UYE passing under it on Route 229 prior to the ESCC BSIP changes.
