East Kent 16014
Leaving Folkestone today by Bouverie Road West, and approaching that part
of the town known locally as the ‘Old Village’, is former East London
Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian 16014.
Since Ashford depot assumed responsibility during the Summer for most of
the workings on service 10, these duties have normally been worked by Dennis
Tridents.
16014 is an unusual visitor to the service, and it’s condition looks almost
perfect in this view, making a fine sight.
The driver has shown initiative in displaying the ultimate destination
‘Ashford & Hospital’, a display really meant for journeys from the Romney
Marsh on the 11 group,
but nevertheless still appropriate for service 10, although it serves the
William Harvey Hospital on it’s way into Ashford.
