It's been quite an eventful year, with highlights including the closure of Hawkhurst Bus Station and the transfer of Stagecoach's Dover operations to a new garage at Whitfield in February, several changes of operator on tendered services across Kent during the spring, and the transfer of Canterbury's Park & Ride contract to Kent Top Travel in October.
A good collection of new vehicles and second-hand acquisitions have been well illustrated on this group (thanks to Martin Smith, Michel Crisp and Dave Burrin for their regular contributions, and to everyone else who has sent reports and photos this year). Thanks also to Ken Lansdowne who has continued to help me with administering the group.
For this year's seasonal picture I have selected East Kent 7684 (still in NBC poppy red and white but with "EK" vinyls over the NBC arrow transfers) on 21st March 1987 at School Road, Charing on the predecessor of the 510 (then still numbered 10) from Maidstone heading towards Ashford.
