Tuesday-only service 24 has recently changed hands again, passing to Autocar following the demise of Countryliner.
Its terminus nowadays is at Sandhurst, but it used to be at Frittenden, at the pub named the Bell & Jorrocks. It appears that this pub was simply named The Bell until 1969, when another pub in the village named the John Jorrocks closed and the latter's name was added to the Bell. John Jorrocks was a fictional character in a series of comic novels by the author R.S. Surtees in the 19th century, involving the fox-hunting fraternity. These photographs were taken on 30th April 1985.
For M&D, like Countryliner more recently, the terminus of the route was not always included on the destination blinds of the vehicle used, so it was sometimes impossible to get a picture of a vehicle on the return journey with the correct blind. With LED displays the destination was usually shown correctly where programmed, as illustrated by such a vehicle with Countryliner which I photographed near Headcorn on 8th July 2008 (though only on the Maidstone-bound journey) -
