I think the press release was intended to be released tomorrow from messages seen elsewhere. I got a copy before it was taken down, but will refrain from posting until it is up again (in case things have changed).

Although most of the Compass operations are outside the area covered by the Invicta Newsgroup, this takeover will extend their activities into our area again, on the 31 to Heathfield and Hurst Green (it may be recalled that they ran a few ESCC tendered services in the Heathfield area from late December 2013 until April 2015, at which point ESCC economies resulted in them being withdrawn or reallocated).

Sorry, Ken, I had approved Martin's copy of the press release before I saw your posting!
Even if things do change in detail, it was a valid press release at the time it was issued so is a matter of historic record.

Some previous postings of mine and Terry Blackman's on the subject of thesussexbus and Compass Travel services in Heathfield, dating from December 2013 and September 2014.

The press release has been restored to the Compass website today, and a copy has also now been circulated by East Sussex County Council.

Thanks to the delayed N&P, it is noted that there has been a change to service 31 as of November 14th.

The service has been split at Uckfield, with the section between Uckfield and Hurst Green re-numbered 231 and operated by Seaford & District on behalf of Compass Bus. Buses will wait for 5 minutes at Uckfield, but the connection cannot be guaranteed. Full timetables (with the 231 in a suitably Seaford shade of Green to Compass' web style) on the Compass Bus website.

Out of our area, but in searching for further details on this I note there is a consultation out in West Sussex which is likely to see changes to a number of their West Sussex routes.

Seaford and District Esteem Dart 203 at Station Road, Hurst Green on 24 November 2016. This was usuually on the 228/9 but a recent acquisition, ADL Pointer Dart KP54 BYL is now in use with 228/9 branding, as on the other two Esteem Darts. This had been new to Premiere, Nottingham but was latterly with Trustybus, Roydon.

At one of the accident blackspots!!!!

I thought they might have headed south and turned at the split junction to Bodiam at Silver Hill or the roundabout at Robertsbridge..

I agree. That was based on only one observation. It may not be the official turning arrangement..
