Megabus to Canterbury!

I thought this would be of interest to everyone here - It seems that Megabus are to launch a new service within the coming weeks (27th March) the M5, from Swansea to University of Kent, Canterbury. with two trips a day leaving the Uni at 0240 & 1640 and one inbound arriving at 1310 (1245 at Whitefriars E1)

Looking at the timetable it suggests a similar arrangement to the overnight 008 service already in operation - with balancing mileage direct via central London.

The M5 does not operate on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. 

The 02:40 from University to Swansea runs off the previous day’s 23:40 arrival (15:20 ex Swansea). 

The 15:20 ex Swansea does not run on Mondays, whilst the 02:40 ex University does not run on Thursdays. 

On the first day, Monday 27 March, a Thursday timetable operated. 

All workings are from Stagecoach Wales Cwmbran depot with two drivers per coach.

I think people are misreading the timetable.  There are three separate versions for Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays to Sundays (no service on Tuesdays or Wednesdays) :

Swansea to Canterbury UOK 0420 Thursdays to Mondays (passing Bus Station 1245) and 1520 Thursdays to Sundays (passing Bus Station 2315);

Canterbury UOK to Swansea 0240 Fridays to Mondays (passing Bus Station 0300) and 1640 Thursdays to Mondays (passing Bus Station 1700).

                Thus there is no need for any balancing or positioning mileage.

There are three different versions of the timetable. 

All four journeys run on Fridays to Sundays.

On Mondays, the afternoon journey from Swansea does not operate (as there is no return working the following day).

On Thursdays, the morning journey from Kent does not operate (as there has been no previous eastbound working).
