I've just returned from the Isle of Wight, where I had the privilege to be "conductor"/driver's assistant on former Arriva Kent & Surrey Volvo B7TL 6428 for the "Wightrider" event.
After a genteel trundle down the A3, we had two round trips to the Wroxall Donkey Sanctuary on Saturday, and a mixture of Wroxall, Bembridge and East Cowes on the Sunday. It was a busy two days (if I didn't know the route to the Donkey Sanctuary at the start of the weekend, I definitely did at the end of it!), and at least a few Club members now know just how loudly I can shout when the fancy takes me...
I can't promise not to bore you with pictures 'en route' once I sort them from the camera, but as a taster, on Sunday evening we treated ourselves to a photo shoot on Downs Road (generally only served by Southern Vectis' summer 'Downs Breezer'). We're seen here at a parking spot which I'm told is one of the island's highest points.
If any other Club members were present and have photos, the owner/driver and I would be delighted to see them - feel free to forward them to me by e-mail if you'd rather not publish them openly.
