For me the more unexpected find near Faversham on the 8th, was ex Stagecoach in Fife Scotland PS B10M 20312 M312YSC which is now use by Vinsons Farms at Graveney, and as I've just been reminded, also ran for Stagecoach South East for about 15 years.

20312 at Ashford in July 2009 and at Broadstairs in October 2012. I captioned it as in the East Kent fleet for "nearly 10 years" for the October picture.

In the Ashford picture, it looks like it is passing roughly where the old bus station used to be - is that correct?

I think close but not quite. That's Tannery Lane on the right there and I think the bus station/depots were in Station Road almost opposite Vicarage Road - about 60m further back. I remember thinking last time I was in Ashford that part of Hollywood Bowl must be on the site. Someone local and historians will know, for sure.

Neil.

If it helps this post from 2020: https://groups.google.com/g/mdekbusclub/c/lBduhVSzi7w/m/VHRjs41mBAAJ, has a black and white (Martyn Hearson) shot of the bus station, which Derek J. comfirmed was on Station Road.

Yes, the former Ashford depot was opposite Vicarage Lane [not Road] on the footprint now occupied by the Hollywood Bowl.

It is perhaps stretching things to label its departure lane as a bus station.  Certainly East Kent never referred to it in those terms.

As regards M312 YSC, it arrived with East Kent in 2000, though subsequently spent some time with what was then Hastings & District before returning.

How certain is the recent attribution to Vinson?  It was noted in the Faversham area in December after having been out of use for a long time in the hire fleet of Hoare, Chepstow, but a reliable source felt at the time that it was not necessarily with Vinson.  There are other farmers in the Faversham area, and experience has taught us that it is not necessarily correct to assume that any farmer’s bus there is with Vinson.
