I’m currently cataloguing some photographs I took of Grey Green commuter coaches in London in April 1996, shortly before the Kent operation was sold to London Coaches. Unfortunately it’s not always clear whether the coach is on an Essex service or a Kent service. Some of the coaches display a service number but no readable destination.

So I was wondering, does anyone have a list of Grey Green commuter services to Kent, with their service numbers, at this time?

TIA

Hi Michael

My file on the subject is temporarily in storage until the New Year, so I can't provide much detail yet, but a very broad guide (from memory, so may not be exhaustive) would be that if the number was in the range from 800 upwards it was a Kent service, but if it was a 190 series number then it was an Essex route.

Hope this helps a little to start the ball rolling.

Derek,

Actually that’s very helpful, and takes care of all the coaches that have got a service number displayed.

Thanks very much,
