The new timetables for A, B, C, D/AD, 1/1A/1X, 2/2A and 10X from 13 August (and the changes to 2 & 2A from 3 September) are now available on the following link on the Stagecoach website.

But why have they hidden them away under "promos and offers" (I have the same complaint about the Folkstone changes)? "Promos and offers" isn't the place where I'd be looking for timetable changes, I'd look under 'Service Updates' but unfortunately they seem intent on publicising a three day road closure from October 2022.... (and yes, I have brought it to their attention a month or so ago).

If I go to the timetables page, I'm only offered the current timetable, in the past when it was aware of a timetable change, it would offer you the choice of timetable. If I go to the 'create your own timetable' page and put in a date after the 13th August it seems to be aware of the new timetable because it shows no 10Xs on Sunday but if I click the link to "Download a full timetable" it's not the new timetable I get. :-(

Corporate websites are built by design consultants, working to the customer's User Requirements Specification but inevitably putting their own spin on it and building in complex customisations which require specialist training to maintain. Then the one person in the entire organisation who was given the training to keep it properly updated leaves and no-one else knows, or can be bothered, to do it properly in the future.
At least the timetables, when you do get to them, aren't the complete farce that Arriva's were after their last revamp.

Communication of timetable changes is becoming an art form in the modern world of smart phones and QR codes.

I attach an image of an A4 publicity notice on an Arriva vehicle taken last week.  This is of no use whatsoever for anyone without a smart phone with QR code reader.   Many of the passengers probably.   For those who have the technology try holding the phone up to read the code on a moving bus negotiating the potholes of Kent at the foot of the staircase crowded with Mums and pushchairs!  Let alone finding the changes to your particular route in the limited time available.

You get my drift I am sure!

Thank you to the Stagecoach SouthEast team for putting the Ashford Changes under Service Updates and removing the diversion entry from October last year!

:-)
