East Kent 15705
With the impressive backdrop of Sugar Loaf Hill behind, East Kent
Scania E400 15705 is seen here on service 73 climbing Park Farm Road
towards the Sainsbury’s superstore.
On it’s circuitous route towards Hawkinge, it will then travel along
Churchill Avenue and encircle Sugar Loaf on the steep climb via the A260, and
enter Hawkinge
via Spitfire Way before serving the many residential areas of the rapidly
expanding village.
Rostered for operation by three Optare Solo midibuses, the 73 is frequently
operated by larger vehicles, and on this day could boast 15705, a Volvo B10M and
a former Cavendish Dennis Dart.
It is certainly a successful route, and provides many new and useful links
including Park Farm and Cheriton, for the residents of Hawkinge.
Consistent investment in the Folkestone fleet by Stagecoach East Kent is
obviously proving to be very successful, with further major enhancement of
service frequencies expected to be
introduced in the very near future.
