A visit to Sheppey today to record the last rites of Arriva local services on the Island before Chalkwell take over on the 12th July. 

Enviro 200s 4066 at Queenborough Rail Station and 4059 at Sheerness Tesco. Volvo B7TL at Leysdown Shops and Mini Pointer Dart 1607 at Warden Point.

Hi Martin

Just to clarify, your pictures are timestamped 9th July, so were actually taken yesterday (Friday 9th), not this morning (Saturday 10th)?

I was in Sheppey myself on Thursday 8th and found 6410/1 in use on 360, but 6411 managed to expire at Leysdown at lunchtime so (if Bustimes info is accurate on these) it appears 6447 is in use today, along with 6410 (360), 1636 (367) and 4048 (361).

Thanks Martin.

It's now apparent that registrations have been varied by both Arriva and Chalkwell to enable the latter to run the 360 on Sunday 11th July, so their first day of operation will be a day earlier than had been expected, although full weekday schedules obviously start on Monday.

Chalkwell were doing route familiarisation (noted on the 360) on Thursday, using a Solo.

Their Sunday timetable advertises the continuation of an enhanced service on 360/361 until the first Sunday in September on behalf of KCC, which was begun by Arriva from 30th May.  361 is restored to run via Halfway throughout the week.

                That is simply a cautionary observation, and in no sense a criticism of the wholly-voluntary work done by the moderators.

                It might however be wise for contributors to specify dates for their reports, rather than simply “today” or “yesterday”.
