Swanley nestles in the north-west corner of Kent, somewhat unceremoniously wedged between the M25, A20 and the London boundary. Once a stronghold of Kentish bus, the majority of individual services are provided by Go-Coach, although the most frequent is TfL's 233, at every 20 minutes, which also provides the "town service" for the northern estates.
The Kent Country livery is, presumably, about to become more widespread in the Thameside area following recent tender wins, and the original application is seen here on SE201. (Vehicles are numbered in common with the London General fleet) on the through service to Orpington.
Interavailable, but not interworked, is Go-Coach's variant, which follows the same route between Dartford and Swanley before branching off to terminate at Swanley station. 4503 was one of the two vehicles in use on 5th June, providing a slight visual confusion when boarding as it retains it's Arriva moquette.
The 233 has recently been given a new allocation of Alexander-Dennis E100EVs in the SEO class. To provide a break from the monotony of the back of ASDA, SEP5 was leaving the previous stop at the end of Swanley High Street later that afternoon heading towards Eltham Station. For those viewers who do not keep up with activity in Londonland, these vehicles are built to the new TfL safety standard, including top-hung windscreen wipers.
