Although not a 'first' a certainly unusual allocation on Metrobus route 284 on Saturday (14th) was Scania/E400 6988. 

More luck than judgment, and owed entirely to my missing a very unlikely connection anyway on to the 291, I captured it at Tunbridge Wells War Memorial, with the Opera House (Weatherspoons) and B&H 468 in the background, itself a reasonably unusual use of a non-Regency branded vehicle on the 29. 

There was a road closure at High Brooms, seemingly also affecting Arriva 281, which meant it was diverting direct to from High Brooms to Meadow Road, not serving Southborough. 

6988 spent the entire day on unusual things, as according to the driver it was going to spend the evening and Sunday on rail replacement in Havant.
