The changes at the end of the month make interesting reading.

Particular notes for my local Folkestone area include the replacement of the 91 in the town with new routes 74 and 75, while the 91 goes two-hourly between just Folkestone and Dover. Much had been made earlier in the year of the 103 and 104 potentially being for the chop, but it appears they survive, at least for now.

Certainly, Folkestone gets off much more lightly than the pretty draconian cuts at Dover and Deal, which must mean the end of most of the Solo fleet there at least.

Those changes in Folkestone only seem to stem from the Dover changes. More could be in the pipeline.
What is interesting is that two sets of services are still under discussion with KCC. Could be some rushed registrations coming up.

Lew

that's a good point - although I thought (though I might be wrong!) that the 103/104 withdrawal was planned for October.

I can't imagine that KCC - with their attempts to slash their tendered bus budget - are especially thrilled that they are having to dig into the funds to cover more Stagecoach withdrawals, either...

Interesting to see that the 91/91A is going back to KCC support, so am I correct that it went comercial in 2017/2018?
I am old enough to remember when it was Route 591 and Kent Coach Tours and then KCC Passenger Services held it until mid January 2007, when Stagecoach suddenly took it over at short notice which seem to recall being told at the time (by students in my college class), was due to the extremely poor behavior of the school kids?

I must admit that I'm kinda surprised that the 91 has been commercial at all - the Alkham Valley Road has not exactly got a lot of population to sustain a bus service...

Further to my last post, timetables for 74 and 75 are also available.
One little tweak I have noticed is that the first 12 from Deal after 0930 has had 3 minutes added between Deal and Ringwould to allow, no doubt, for the large numbers of concessionary pass holders who always make the current trip late!

All the new timetables can be found on bustimes.org, though announcements are still awaited on KCC tenders for 68, a service for Eythorne/Elvington, and a Deal town network.

To clarify some confusion in recent postings, the Stagecoach scheme at Folkestone is yet to come (see Invicta page 22/189).  New 74/A and 75 are an incidental spin-off from the Dover scheme, resulting from 91 losing the commercial elements which it’s had at each end since June 2018 and reverting to the basic KCC contract.

Nicholas,
At the moment the new 64 is not on there, though the 64A is!

The 64 was uploaded yesterday morning, and I've just checked again, it is definitely there.

Latest update on the Stagecoach website advises that Regent Coaches will be taking on the 68. It is not shown on Bustimes yet but there is a timetable for former Stagecoach route 37 in Thanet which will be operated by Regent from 5th December.

Stagecoach seem to have discovered the secret of time travel, as buses on 64 towards River are scheduled to leave bothe Pencester Road and Priory Street at the same time! On the other hand, 61s are now allowed an extra 5 minutes to get from Buckland to Pencester Road (hints of 'recovery time' as used by train companies?).
