Have you ever used this tool before?

Hello Rhyon, I have no experience with Adobe Connect.

Donna,

I've used it for the past 2 years. I open a session during my f2f classes and record the lecture. I then post the link on my LMS for students to review. The recordings are live classes and fairly long, but students seem to like the access. I've noticed students don't ask as many questions about the content when they know the lecture is posted online. It's a real good tool for small groups, every time I try and run a large class some people have technology problems and get frustrated. Not a good thing! There is a learning curve to use this tool effectively. I would say 3-4 hours.

Cheers

The only experience I have is the session that we did. Cheers,

Rob

I have used it a couple of times in previous MDDE courses as a meeting
participant, but that is about it.

Hi there,
I have never used Adobe Connect either. Can't wait to check it out.

I have been the administrator for Adobe Connect for our institution
for 2+ years. We use it for synchronous video conference classes
between a school in Alberta and a school in Ontario, with the
instructor at one school, and students at both. I am also the AV tech
for this set-up, as most of our instructors cannot troubleshoot AV
issues while teaching. ;)

Good afternoon all :)
We were using Adobe Connect today at work with a live class, and the instructor decided that he wanted to do break out sessions with the group. He hadn't mentioned this to me ahead of time (typical), and I had never done it before. I figured it out in less than a minute, and it was a huge success. There were 10 people in the class: 4 in a room in Edmonton, 4 in a room in St. Catharines, (Ontario), 1 online in Penticton, and 1 online in rural Ontario. Everyone paired up for 10 minutes of individual discussion, and I was able to set the two online students up on the fly with a breakout session so they could have their private discussion with each other.
As we learn to use this tool here - by trial and error - it is so rewarding to have these little successes. :)
Just thought I'd share.
