Hey Jeff, I am taking a 7-hour course on how to use the iphone offered
by Lynda.com. I recently purchased one and I am in dire need of some
training. Turns out that Lynda.com has an app for the iphone;
therefore, I am going to take the course using my iphone so I can
expereince mobile learning while waiting for the kids to finish their
after school sports.
Have a great day!

I'll be learning how to use a guitar pick and strum properly.  I've hacked away at the guitar for....too long, but only strum and pick with my fingers.

I sent Craig an email asking if I could design an interactive training tool using Captivate cs5. I'm going to build a tutor program to show how to create a Moodle course with multiple chapters , student interactivity and assessment. Hope he plays the idea

I didn't know Lynda.com had mobile friendly videos. Is this option avaliable with all their videos?

You guys are really getting into the spirit of life-long learning! Fantastic!! I have had students learn to play musical instruments, master French Cream frosting, learn to use their iPhones (Carmen - the last student that learned the iPhone introduced me to folders on the iphone!) and a bunch of other really neat stuff.  Don't pick something too serious, and I certainly don't expect you to become an instant expert, but this is about learning for learning's sake.
What else are you trying to learn??

Hi Rhyon,

I have check out a few of the courses and they are all mobile friendly
videos. Their website indicates that they have over a thousand videos
so I am not sure if this is true for all of them.

So far my expereince has been awesome. To begin with I downloaded the
app the my phone, logged into the course, and voila!! Now when I click
on the App my course immediatly appears. I completed chapter 3 at the
high school gym last night :).

Thanks Craig, so far I have learned all kinds of cool things. When I
learn a cool little trick I immediately show my daughter (who has a
ipod) and she says "yeah I know"..... figures ;).

I'm experiencing decision angst. As usual. I always have trouble deciding on something when there are too many options...

OK, I'm taking a Russian Lesson tonight. I feel like I'm trying to impersonate Sean Connery in Hunt for Red October...

Since I have a love for languages, I am thinking of trying out Chinese
Mandarin. Mango languages has a free lesson that I can try, and if I
like it, I am thinking of continuing on the course.

I am working through the first lesson in Russian in Mango Languages. It's tough, but I like the feel of the site so far.
Are you recording your screen as you work through your Chinese lessons? If so, what program are you using to record?

Hello Jeff,

Yes, I am recording my screen as I am working through the Chinese
lessons. I am doing this using Mac OS X Lion, which has an application
that has a built-in screen recorder, Quicktime Player. There is a
version of this for Windows, but I'm not sure this version does screen
recording. You can download it from Apple's Quicktime site,
http://www.apple.com/ca/quicktime/?cid=jm. If it does screen
recording, you should find it under the File menu.

Hope this helps.
