Class presentation

Hi Group 3
I think that Tim has told you that your group presentation on Adobe
Connect should be during the October 10 -16 time period. For no reason
other than history, would it be OK if we scheduled it for Tuesday
October 11 at 7PM Mountain time?This is strictly a suggestion and you
guys decide. I am available almost any time that week. I have found
that 7PM Mountain time works really well (not too late for people in
Gander, acceptable for people in Singapore).
You decide and let me know.
Once we decide, you can post a notice in the Announcements section
(I'll give you a copy of what I have used before as a template:-)

Unfortunately, I have a synchronous video conference course on Tuesday nights that I am supporting, starting on October 11th. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday that week all work for me, and 7pm is a great time.

A few members replied, requesting to research specific affordances,
(see below). I wanted to suggest, when we meet online in Connect this
Sunday night, could we look at each of these features as a group to
start. Feel free to come up with additional affordances.

I've been using Adobe Connect for a couple of years, but in a limited way. I can do some investigating in any area that is needed by the group. My personal experience is that "Affordances" 1 & 2 & 6 are the most valuable. :)

I'm also interested to know if there is an easy way to collaborate on shared documents other than with the whiteboard...  Anyone know?

Affordance 1 covers sharing the presentation screen. There is a lot in this category, whiteboard, shared desktop, shared applications.

I am available anytime weekdays, but that Wednesday or Friday would be
fine for me. Alternatively, we may want to consider the weekend of
October 15/16, possibly Sunday late afternoon/evening, obviously not
too late before a workday.

I usually try not to have classes on the weekend, but it seems that you may have a problem getting everyone together.
Not everyone in the group has to be present - someone can present another's section - or they could do it asynchronously.

Thanks for a good session on Sunday night - this is my first course, and I am starting to feel like part of the group. :)
I still, however, feel like I arrived "late to the party" with being sick the previous week, and I'm not feeling certain about how I can contribute best to this presentation.
At first, I didn't quite understand the approach of dividing things into "Affordances", so I hesitated to sign up for one - now I have an understanding of what we're doing but I'm not sure where to hang my hat. It looks like Affordance 7 (Live Cohort Chat) has not yet been claimed, but from what I've seen, this is a fairly small section. I can prepare my part of the presentation on this one, but if anyone else feels they have too much to cover in their area, please let me know, and I would be quite willing to help prepare material for another Affordance. I look forward to your response(s).
Also, I noticed on Sunday that we didn't check out the ability to switch between preprepared "Layouts" - it doesn't add to the "Affordances" necessarily, but it does add to the functionality of this product. Does someone want to include this in their portion?

Since Donna won't be with us anymore, perhaps you could look at using
the discussion notes pod if you think there is enough there... I'd
also be interested how to use connect to show powerpoint slides, even
though Tim didn't seem to like the affordance...just a thought.
