Council Members,
Following the recently held Districts' Chairs meeting in Northampton, a structure of the new provincial committee was agreed as per instruction from the Secretary General, Honourable Tendai Biti. In line with that communication, the district chairs agreed on a timetable of events which communication, I am sure you have received. Noted in that communication are the following:
- There will be a Provincial Council/Meeting on the 29th of January 2011 to avail the full committee to run the provincial affairs until Congress which is due in May 2011(Recent resolutions)
- Every District is to elect an individual to join the Provincial Committee(Criterion to be published soon)
- The elected person will be unveiled and allocated a portfolio by the the 29th of January 2011
- The election of this individual has to be done by 15th of January 2011
In pursuit of the achievement of the above issues, I am therefore calling upon all members to send nominations to my office. The main criterion for our district is to elect a female member to the portfolio position as per communication from Harare and as agreed between District Chairs.
The venue for the Council meeting will be advised soon. May all branch officials attend this meeting as it is crucial as we are facing restructuring at all levels before the Congress. Following this meeting will be a program of branch restructuring for the North District which will be agreed upon by all Council members.
