Petition to stop mining at Carpenter's Point (Cecil County)

Please consider signing this petition to prevent sand mining at Carpenter's Point. Carpenter's Point has fields, forests, and a small residential community. It's a beautiful birding spot and important habitat for migratory birds and nesting species.

Cecil County has been going through a period of development unlike anything I ever saw in the thirty years I lived there. Huge warehouses are being built and sand/gravel mining operations are expanding. If Carpenters Point gets destroyed to mine sand, it will be a real loss for birders and will lower property values for the local community.
