- Reported Oct 29, 2022 12:52 by Jacob Hall
- National Colonial Farm, Prince George's, Maryland

I rushed over to find it hover gleaning like a kinglet in the short cedars in the field to the east of the barn, near but not associating with juncos and kinglets. It was surprisingly elusive even at close range, one moment in plain sight and completely obscured the next. Pic pending."

Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus) (1)
- Reported Oct 29, 2022 09:00 by Charlotte Friend
- Fort Frederick SP--Big Pool, Washington, Maryland
- Comments: "I was surprised when this bird flew so close to me. I had a very good look. At first, I thought it was a rose-breasted grosbeak until I thought they were probably gone. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure it was a female grosbeak, not a purple finch. The head plumage was very sharply defined with a large white supercilium and white under the large black oval patch around the ear. The wingbars were very fine, and there was light streaking on the underparts. There was a blush of yellowish color under part of the breast streaking. A large bill."
