Greetings All,

Nice wkend of birding on the shore. Photos of the Swainson's Hawk that Dad and I saw on Saturday (9/15) can be seen here:

I'll let Dad fill everyone in on the details of the fall count. Some might find it of interest to know that we saw 3 Am. Golden Plovers at Blackwater, opposite Pool 5 on the mudflat there. They were running around with 2 Black-bellied Plovers.

I enjoyed a nice smattering of migrants at Rigby's Folly on 9/16. Highlights included seeing a Gray-cheeked Thrush with a Swainson's, 2 Veery, and a Wood Thrush. Also nice were 2 Yellow-throated Vireos, and 16 Red-eyed Vireos. The entire list can be seen here:

Today at Taylor's Island there were also a fair number of migrants around. Highlights included a nice kettle of 145 Broad-winged Hawks, 13 Red-headed Woodpeckers, 30 Red-breasted Nuthatches, and 14 warbler sp. The full list is here:

I checked for Buff-breasted Sandpiper along rt392 east of Hurlock, with no success.

Best to all,
-George
