Purple dot represents the general area where the bird was observed this am.

Any updates tomorrow would be helpful, as I will be heading down with a friend to hopefully get the Western Grebe. We probably won't get there until noon. This also goes for Eared Grebe, Western Kingbird, sea ducks at the inlet, etc. (And we might even try for the Calliope Hummingbird.)

Thanks in advance,

Please post updates to the list on these birds - Jon and I are planning on chasing the same birds!

Joe and I waited for the Calliope from 8:52 - 10:38 this morning but did not see it. Vince had seen it first thing in the morning. He (or his wife, sorry I don't remember) saw a hummingbird a little north of their house recently, so the bird may have another food source.

We saw the Western Grebe at 12:45. It was distant and on the edge of the sun glare, but identifiable.

Has there been a Western Kingbird at OC recently?
