Paula and I are continuing to see a Ruby-crowned Kinglet at our feeder. And today was no exception. The bird showed up on January 1, and since our property is in the Christmas Count circle for Baltimore County, we were able to tick it off on the Jan. 1 count day. The bird was one of the 31 species that we had for the count.

Good birding!

We also have a Ruby-crowned Kinglet regularly at our suet feeders in Anne Arundel County. It seems to prefer the enclosed one (hanging free, with a squirrel protection cage around it that the small birds enter) to the open one (hanging on a tree) but it uses both.

We also have a ruby-crowned kinglet at our backyard feeder in Bethesda.  It’s been coming for a few weeks.  We could see the red even when it was raining hard one day which was a treat.
