I was surprised to see a "painted" turtle in the middle of the Potomac
on 4/23. It was opposite Lock 34 of the C&O canal, upstream of
Harpers Ferry where the river flows quite rapidly. I only mention it
because...
1. I was advised by DNR not that long ago that these turtles aren't
found in the much smaller Catoctin Creek due to too rapid stream flow
there and
2. I know DNR folks read these messages.
