Hi all,

Is the MoCo hotspot called Gude Trail--E. Gude Dr. - Lake Needwood on eBird restricted access, or are the Google maps directions wrong? I’ve tried to go there a couple of times and always hit a locked gate. Thanks!

Manoli:  The placement of the trail in eBird is correct and the trail is publicly accessible.  The trail is to the left (West) of the stout metal fence as you travel NE.  The locked gate leads to the former (long closed) Gude Landfill, which is out-of-bounds to birders.

We found best access to the trail by going behind the True Respite Brewing Company and turning right behind the red brick buildings, driving about 30 yards and parking next to the trailhead.  We put True Respite Brewing Company into Google Maps to find the trail.
