At 70 yrs old, I am downsizing. I used to be a photographer specializing in birds. I am looking to give away (free) a number of items. I hope you or others may find a need for them. If not, everything goes to the dump. Excellent slide projector with zoom lens, 3 carousels, collapsible stand, all with carrying cases. Large projection screen. About 30+ books on birds. Thousands of slides. Some very good, some not bad. If interested, please contact me ASAP. Moving in 2-4 weeks.

If no one wants the slide projector, screen etc. he should donate it to thrift store rather than take to dump.

Books could go to MOS or a chapter p, MBC for example has taken books from members and sold or given away, where much appreciated.

Not sure what to say about the slides.

The slides could be digitized, or donated to ANS, or some other organization.  I am currently collating my collection and will dump the undigitized ones.  I will digitize slides like the Rose’s Gull or other extremely unusual species, and excellent images like Bohemian Waxwings.  Vireo likely no longer takes slides.

Unfortunately slides may have gone the way of floppy disks.

George,

True about slides being passé, although I wonder if the digital formats will have the shelf life of Kodachrome slides. I was looking at some from summer of 1964 the other day (am also planning to digitize) and they still looked great. After 56 1/2 years.

Folks

None of my digitized images fade.  They could be erased with a magnet.

Don’t forget to backup.

Are you that old?

I was still in high school in 64.

Stay safe all.

George
